As the summit forum of the 5th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), the China-Europe Cultural Industry Forum was held in the afternoon of May 15, 2009 at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center.
The theme of the forum is: Fostering Cultural Cooperation, Promoting Cultural Industries and Enhancing Dialogue.
Mr. Guo Yonghang, Director of Cultural Industry Office of Shenzhen Government chaired the opening of the meeting and introduced the attending guests.
Mr. Liu Yuzhu, Director General of the Department of Cultural Industry of the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, Mrs. Odile Quintin, Director General of Directorate General for Education and Culture of European Commission and Mr. Zhuo Qinrui, Deputy Mayor of Shenzhen each made a speech. Then Mr. Li Xiaolei, Deputy Director General of Department of Cultural Industry of Ministry of Culture of P.R. China and Mrs. Odile Quintin each made a keynote speech.
Then the workshops began. In Workshop 1, Ms. Chen Xi from Shenzhen Media Group acted as the host. Mr. Thomas Carl Schwoerer from Campus Publishing House of Germany, Mr. Song Xiaohong, Deputy President of China Publication Group, Mr. Vincent Fournier-Laroque from French Music Exports Office of France, Mr. Liu Xiaosong, CEO of A8 Music Group, Mr. Zhou Zhuang, Deputy Director of Film Office of China International Television Corporation, Mr. Malte Behrmann, Secretary General, EGDF-European Games Developers Federation, Sweden, and Mr. Hao Yaning, President of Beijing Union Film Investment Co., Ltd. each made a speech and took part in the discussion.
In Workshop 2, Mrs. Alison Crabb, Deputy Head of Unit, Culture Policy and Intercultural Dialogue, DG Education and Culture, European Commission, acted as the host. Mr. Philippe Chantepie, Chief du department des etudes, de la prospective et des statistiques (DEPS), Ministere de la culture et dela communication, France, Mr. Alastair Findlay, Department for Culture Media and Sport, United Kingdom, Mr. Vito Borrelli, China Desk, Cooperation and International Programmes, European Commission-DG Education and Culture, Ms. Wang Danyan, Deputy Director, General Editor Office, State Administration of Radio, Film and Publication and Dr. Hu Jingyan, Director General, Department of Service Trade, Ministry of Commerce of P.R. China each made a speech and took part in the discussion. All the participants are very optimistic and are expecting further exchanges and cooperation between China and Europe in the cultural industries.
